About Morio Worms

Morio Worms are also known as Super Giant Mealworms or Superworms.   Morios are the larvea of a tropical beetle (Zophorus Morio) and resemble the more common mealworm, they are an entirely different species though. 

Growing up to 60mm and supplied at 40-60mm Morio worms are great for bigger lizards like bearded dragons or monitors as well as larger wild or aviary birds.

Storage & Use

Transfer to a smooth sided plastic tray (cat litter trays work well) or ventilated glass/plastic tank.   Morio worms will not pupate when kept together which gives them the potential to last a couple of weeks or more depending on their care.   They should be kept warm or at room temperature in bran for a bedding in which to burrow, they should be fed washed, pesticide free carrot or potato for moisture.  As with all insects keep the enclousure very clean by changing fresh food daily and pay particular attention to preventing humidity building up.  DO NOT REFRIGERATE.

Feed as required in a smooth dog/cat bowl to prevent escapes, remember morios can nip so you may want to use plastic tweezers for handling.
